Hussain Sajwani – Founder and President of DAMAC Properties

Hussain Sajwani is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of DAMAC Properties, a worldwide property development firm established in 2002. As a leading label in the development market, the company has partnered with some of the most distinguished fashion brands to bring exciting lifestyle ideas to the market. Such companies include the golf course designed by Tigre Woods, which will be controlled by The Trump Organization. Days before Trump becoming the president of the United States of America, he told journalists that DAMAC has provided $2 billion to the Trump Organization for making business deals after his election. Also, he has joined forces with Fendi Casa and Versace, interior luxury apartment designers of houses based in Italy.

 

Presently, one of the key drivers of DAMAC’s prosperity in the market is due to his competence in the property development field from sales, finance, marketing, legal, and administration. The company has several distinguished projects in key cities located in the world such as Amman, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, London, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh. Additionally, the company has employed approximately 2,000 staff.

 

Mr. Sajwani successfully completed his academic bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington. After his graduation, he started his career journey at GASCO where he served as a Contracts Manager. GASCO is a branch of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company(ADNOC). After a short while, Hussain Sajwani started his own establishment. Additionally, he also founded his own catering venture in 1982. Currently, his catering venture is a market leader serving more than 150,00 meals every day in different markets in Africa, Middle East, and the CIS. The catering division is also a leader in managing over 200 projects in markets located in these regions. Moreover, the firm also services army camps, five-star hotels, construction campsites, and educational institutions. Also, the division specializes in offering ancillary services such as camp maintenance, management, and labor force supply.

 

Hussain Sajwani was also one of the spearheads of the property market growth in Dubai. He built a number of hotels in the mid-90s to shelter the expanding influx of business men and traders coming to the emirate. He has also worked board member in different institutions including the New York-based JUNO Online business, the Majan University College based in Muscat Oman, and Emirates Takaful Company located in Abu Dhabi.

 

Hussain Sajwani family is a conservative, middle- class family based in Dubai. Mr. Sajwani is a citizen of the United Arab Emirates.
